How does insurance work?
All trips on Someone's cars are automatically covered by third-party auto liability insurance. You get unlimited coverage for bodily injury or death to others, while coverage for motor third-party property damage is limited to €75000.
What happens if my car gets damaged?
You're protected if something doesn’t go to plan and your car gets damaged. You will get reimbursement from Someone's Cars for eligible physical damage costs for the Reservation Period* only.
*The Reservation Period is the period shown for a booked trip. It begins at the trip start time listed in the reservation and when the vehicle is in the custody or control of the guest. It ends the earlier of the trip end time or when the vehicle is returned to the host or the location designated in the reservation.
How can I check if my car is eligible to list on Someone's Cars?
Check our eligibility requirements for cars in Germany during the registration process. At all times, make sure your vehicle is insured and has a valid service check.
How are incidentals and claims resolved?
After you check out at the end of a trip, your app will walk you through the steps to file a claim, request reimbursements for a parking ticket, toll or missing fuel or charge, or request information for a speeding ticket. If you are notified of damage during a trip, you and your guest can report damage through the app while the trip is in progress.

How does check-in work and what happens at the end of a trip?
Before you hand over the keys to your guest, the Someone's Cars app will prompt you to take multiple photos of the exterior and interior of the car to document its condition and enter the mileage and fuel levels. You can read a breakdown of the check-in process.
At the agreed time, hand over your keys to the primary driver. You’ll also be asked to check the guest’s driving license against the information provided in the app. Contactless chech-ins are coming up.
If the primary guest is not in attendance at check-in or doesn’t have their driving license on them, do not hand over the keys. Contact support if you have any cause for hesitation.
At the end of their trip, your guest will return the vehicle to the pre-arranged location at the agreed time. The app will guide you through the check-out process.
